Okehampton-based Ashridge Engineering, which designs and manufactures underwater acoustic and visual systems has been sold by Alan Orchard, who has owned the business since 1993 to Seiche — another Devon-based company that counts BP, Shell, Exxon Mobil and RPS Energy among its clients.
Roy Wyatt, managing director of Seiche, said: “This is a great opportunity for two complementary engineering businesses to join forces. The combined Seiche and Ashridge product portfolio has instrumentation at its core. Investment in R&D is vital for both businesses, and we will build the next generation of solutions in our chosen fields.
“We at Seiche are looking forward to working with the Ashridge team in order to continue to provide innovative and high-quality products to a UK and global client base, as well as delivering first-class customer service and reliability.”
Mr Orchard, who is retiring, said: “Seiche will take Ashridge to the next level of growth through increased partnerships and opportunities, particularly in the global market-place.”
