MACH 2016colchesterNot only did the new ultra-heavyweight Colchester Magnum from 600 UK (www.600uk.com) make its debut at MACH 2016, the company gained its first UK sale at the exhibition on the first day of opening.

The Magnum is available with swing-over-bed options of 660 and 800mm, centre distances up to 4,000mm and spindle bore options up to 230mm.

600 UK sales director Howard Bamforth said: “Out of all the products that 600 UK has brought to the market in the last 12 months, this is the one that our distributors most wanted us to design and build.

“The Colchester Magnum and Magnum LS centre lathes have taken all the strengths of the Colchester centre lathe and produced a heavyweight version that has all the power, strength and standard production features required to meet almost any large turning requirement in the oil and gas, utilities and shipbuilding industries.”

Meanwhile, Harrison launched the flat-bed Harrison Alpha XC combination CNC lathe, which has a three-axis capability.

It also introduced the all new Harrison EziTurn electronic lathe, which bridges the gap in skill levels between manual and CNC turning applications.
