MACH 2016The stand of Nottingham-based Vollmer UK Ltd (
www.vollmer-group.com) was a hive of activity, with a new machine — the Vgrind 160 — receiving its UK exhibition debut, following its global launch at the Grindtec show in March.
Moreover, the machine being demonstrated at
MACH was sold to a UK cutting tool manufacturer on the second day of the show.
The new Vgrind can process tools up to 50mm in diameter and 265mm long (200mm grinding length); it also has an upgraded automation system.
The previous Vgrind could accommodate two pallets, whereas the new one with its Fanuc robot more than triples that capacity — plus it can change collets in the machine for the automatic unmanned processing of tools with different diameters.
In addition, the new machine has an eight-wheel tool-changing system compared with the previous model’s six.
Commenting on the show, managing director Peter Allen said: “Many exhibitors approach exhibitions with limited expectations. From a Vollmer perspective, we were genuinely delighted with
MACH and are in the process of signing up for the 2018 show. Our lead generation was exceptional and the quality of these leads proved very positive.”
