Doubling up stand size at MACH pays off

MACH 2016RKThe decision by Erith-based RK International Machine Tools Ltd (www.rk-int.com) to double the size of its MACH stand compared with 2014 paid dividends, allowing the company to exhibit a greater number of machines and focus on the high-precision grinding sector.

The result was an increase in enquiries, along with a significant increase in the potential value of those enquiries.

RK International’s sales manager, Simon Rood, said: “The show proved to be a very successful and opportune event for the company, with the investment paying off in terms of the increased level of interest — especially in the high-precision grinding products that we have available for a range of applications and budgets.”

One of the highlights on the stand was the Robbi 600ET6 PLC universal grinder, which was shown with the latest Siemens TP700 control; this allows touch-screen operation and the grinding of up to 12 diameters in a single set-up.

The 600ET6 is the second in the range of Robbi T6 machines, which offer four swing capacities.

The show machine had a maximum grinding length of 630mm (2,030mm is offered by the largest machine in the range) and a centre height of 180mm (230mm optional); it was also fitted with Marposs and Renishaw gauging (pictured), as well as a 30,000rev/min electronic spindle for internal grinding work.

RK International also showed a Perfect X36 high-precision surface grinder. With its ADP control, this machine can be programmed in 0.001mm increments in both the vertical and cross axes.

In addition, built-in grinding features that can be selected according to different grinding conditions, provide increased productivity.
