MACH 2016While exhibitors sometimes regard students and apprentices as “bus-loads of kids that take all the goodies,” Arthur Turner — managing director of Rainford Precision — says he was genuinely impressed by the calibre of the apprentices and university students who visited the company’s stand to see the latest micro-machining and micro-tooling technology (

“These ‘engineers of tomorrow’ might not be buying tools from Rainford for another 10 years, but their lines of enquiry at
MACHm were truly positive and enlightening.
“We had an 8µm drill on the stand, and this generated the ‘wow factor’ — not only among the youngsters, but also established engineers.”
