MACH 2016Bob Tunks, owner of Hertfordshire-based BK Tooling, “sealed the deal” at
MACH for his company’s latest acquisition — a Sodick AD35L linear-motor die-sink machine from Sodi-Tech EDM Ltd, Coventry (
www.sodi-techedm.co.uk).
Mr Tunks says: “We pride ourselves on being a ‘boutique’ tool maker and moulding specialist, focused on meeting the increasingly challenging demands of the low- to medium-volume injection moulding sector.
“Last year we suspected that our existing machine — from a different supplier — was no longer giving us the competitive edge we were looking for; and when we undertook a joint project with a company that was using Sodick technology, we could immediately see the benefits in terms of speed and quality of finish they were achieving.
MACH gave us the opportunity to conclude our EDM market research and finalise the deal.”
