Formed by directors Steve Malone and Robbie Hargreaves in 1998, Proseal is now a leading manufacturer of tray-sealing machinery and tooling for both UK and international customers.
The company’s extensive range of tray-sealing systems includes portable, semi-automatic and automatic in-line types, as well as sandwich-packaging systems. All these feature tooling components that are manufactured from aluminium or acetal co-polymer plate material.
This plate comes in a variety of thicknesses. Plate from 7 to 50mm is used for standard tools, while plate up to 100mm thick is used for vacuum tools. Acetal co-polymer tools use plate up to 50mm thick.
When Adlington-based Proseal needed another plate-cutting saw, it again turned to Kettering-based Prosaw (
www.prosaw.co.uk), which has supplied the company with two other sawing systems over the past two years. Unlike those, the latest is a vertical bandsaw that was designed specifically to accommodate all possible thicknesses of Proseal’s stock plate.
This saw features an extra-large bed to assist the operator when loading bulky or heavy plate onto the machine. Additionally, the saw bed is fitted with surface-mounted roller bearings, to ensure smooth and easy manoeuvring of heavy plate over the bed.
Manufacturing manager Paul Wilson said: “We are happy to have a very good relationship with Prosaw and have been perfectly satisfied with both the quality of the systems and the after-sales service that we have received.”
