The CA5 Evo Boost five-axis tool-grinding and re-sharpening centre from French manufacturer SMP Technik is now available in the UK from Milton Keynes-based NL Machine Tool Consulting Ltd (
www.nlmtc.co.uk).
Equipped with a 720mm-long table, this machine offers a choice of HSK40, HSK50 or HSK63 electro-spindles with speeds up to 12,000rev/min. Furthermore, with a six-position grinding-wheel magazine as standard (18 positions optional), wheels can be loaded and unloaded in less than 5sec, says SMP.
Additional features of the CA5 Evo Boost include a mineral cast bed, a rigid-nozzle tool-cooling system, an SA50 workpiece holder, Renishaw tool probing and EasyGrind software. Among the optional accessories are a wheel
sensor to automatically compensate for wheel wear, a manual tailstock, a CNC steady rest and a retractable tool-cooling system.
