New venture for FC Laser Ltd

New venture for FC Laser LtdA new manufacturing venture offering high-precision laser-cut metal profiles has opted to purchase a brand-new Bystronic Bysprint Pro laser from Coventry-based Bystronic UK Ltd (www.bystronic.com) to run at the heart of its operations. Based in new 1,000m2 purpose-built premises at Stanton, near Ilkeston, FC Laser Ltd is offering a laser-cut profile service for mild and stainless steel up to 20mm thick and aluminium up to 12mm.

FC Laser’s managing director, Danny Fantom, says that, as a new start-up venture, buying a new laser as opposed to used was always the preferred option. “Our aim is to offer a world-class service to all customers in terms of a rapid response to enquiry, quick delivery, reliability and competitiveness. We did consider starting with a used machine but didn’t believe we would be able to give the service and accuracy we wanted to offer from Day One.

“We approached a number of potential suppliers, but decided to purchase the Bystronic, as I have previously run three of their laser machines without problems. Moreover, the processing speed of the new 4.4kW £450,000 Bysprint Pro is extremely fast, with instantaneous piercing in steel up to 10mm thick and acceleration times between holes that give unbeatable part-cutting times.”

To complement its Bysprint Pro investment, FC Laser also took delivery of several seats of Bysoft machine programming and estimation software. The response to its service and quality has been such that a second Bystronic machine has been ordered, for delivery this autumn.
