Chester acquires UniprizeChester Machine Tools (www.chestermachinetools.com) has continued its growth strategy of recent years with the acquisition of the products and business operations of Stockport-based Uniprize Machine Tools.

Chester will now offer all Uniprize machine tools — including surface-grinding machines, heavy-duty lathes, milling
machines and drilling machines — alongside its own comprehensive portfolio of engineering machinery. The Uniprize workforce will also be incorporated into Chester’s own operations in Cheshire and Burntwood, Staffordshire.

Chester sales director Anthony Edwards said: “We are delighted to add the well-respected Uniprize brand and product range to our line-up. The products will complement our existing range and ensure that Uniprize machines continue to be available to customers in the UK, as well as in our fast-expanding export markets world-wide.”

Chester will provide on-going support for all existing Uniprize machines in the market and extend its ISO 9001 accreditation to the additional product range. Chester has a proven track record of expanding its operations with previous acquisitions including the Brierley, Kitchen Walker and Scot Urquhart brands.
