Cookstown firm boosts workforceThe Enisca Group, which is based in Cookstown (County Tyrone) and works in the power and water sectors in the UK and Ireland, is planning to spend over £1.5 million to recruit more than 40 new employees by 2020, with the support of a £260,000 grant from Invest NI.

This investment will support Enisca’s growth plans, after it won a number of new long-term contracts and renewed existing contracts. It counts Northern Ireland Water, Wakefield AD recycling plant and Scottish Water among its clients.

Group managing director Conor King said: “We want to build on our success in the water and power sectors to date and leverage the significant number of opportunities in the pipeline arising from high-value framework contracts with new and existing customers outside Northern Ireland.”

When recruitment is complete, the company will employ 83 people in Cookstown and over 150 in total across the group, which achieved sales of £10.3 million in its most recent results.

Bill Montgomery, Invest NI's director of advanced manufacturing and engineering, said: “Invest NI support is ensuring that Enisca has the resources, expertise and market access to tender for — and win — valuable contracts in its target industry. This is an example of the many entrepreneurial SMEs we are helping to realise their growth potential.”
