A pioneering robotics company that is developing a diagnostic and physical training machine has moved into Exeter Science Park.
Sigma Technical (
www.sigma-technical.com) was launched in 2016 by engineer Mike Badley, who has used his knowledge of electro-mechanical special effects to develop a machine that can provide bespoke training routines to aid rehabilitation and build up strength.
It has the potential for pre- and post-spaceflight training or in-mission exercising to help maintain muscle mass and bone density.
It could enhance the training for elite sports-people — from F1 drivers to rugby players — by providing exercises that are tailored to strengthen specific muscles.
