Bruderer seals £1 million deal at MACH

Bruderer seals £1 million deal at MACH Kingswinford-based Clamason Industries (www.clamason.co.uk), a precision presswork and assembly manufacturer, is investing £1 million in a new 300-tonne press to target new business worth £6 million.

The order — placed with Bruderer UK (www.bruderer.co.uk) — was announced at MACH 2018 earlier this month.

Clamason — a specialist supplier to the automotive, medical and building products sectors — will install a 300-tonne ZANI Motion Master press in June and is hoping that its speed and larger bed will unlock significant opportunities.

This comes after a successful two-year period for the company, with a management buy-out in 2016 followed by 10% year-on-year growth, 20 new jobs and a predicted £30 million turnover in 2018 from its operations in
the UK and Slovakia.

Sales director Ian Davies said: “We have worked with Bruderer UK for more than 20 years and have been extremely impressed with the quality of the machines it provides and the service/maintenance packages it delivers.

"A number of conversations with potential customers had identified the need for a larger and faster press than the ones we already possessed, so we decided that MACH 2018 was the perfect opportunity to place the order.

“ZANI presses are renowned for their durability and performance; the 300-tonne Motion Master press gives us the ability to achieve over 80 strokes per min and take on much larger and more-complex components.

"We have also opted for the turn-key solution, which includes a ‘state of the art’ servo feeder and decoiling line.”

Bruderer celebrates 50 years in the UK in 2018 — and 75 years in its native Switzerland.

With bases in Luton and the Black Country, it achieved annual sales of more than £5 million for the first time in its history and plans to recruit three more sales and service engineers.
