Dundee-based Caltech Lifts has acquired rival company Scotlifts Scotland Ltd in a deal that will help the company grow its turnover to £1.9 million by maintaining more than 1,000 lifts around the UK.

Scott Murray — Scotlifts owner — will join the management team as Caltech’s new installations manager.

Scotlifts, which is based in Angus, has 50 contract clients in Dundee, Perthshire and the Highlands, which will bolt on to Caltech’s growing lift service portfolio.

Caltech Lifts’ managing director, Andrew Renwick, (www.caltechlifts.co.uk) said: “To have Scott on our installation and repairs team full-time will significantly strengthen our engineering capability.

“He will be heavily involved in both a hands-on role and supervising other engineers and training apprentices.”
