The Morgan Motor Co is collaborating on two concept bicycles with a fellow British company, Pashley Cycles.
Founded in 1926, the latter is known around the world for its traditionally built and impeccably styled bicycles.
The Pashley-Morgan range will include two new bikes, both of which will be produced in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The bicycles have a hand-crafted frame that is fillet-brazed (using Reynolds 631 tubing) and incorporates a custom-formed top tube, a frame-mounted race plate, distinctive S-bend seat stays and unique track ends with etched stainless faces.
The Pashley-Morgan 8 is finished in light pearl grey and features subtle livery inspired by Morgan’s racing heritage. Hand-stitched black leather grips are complemented by Morgan aluminium end caps (based on a dashboard control), while the matching mud-guard and chain-guard are hand-crafted at Morgan’s Malvern Link factory (using black ash).
There is also a classic domed headlamp and a Brooks vulcanised rubber saddle with a cotton surface. The eight-speed bike will retail in the UK at £1,595.
The Pashley-Morgan 3 (pictured) is finished in British Racing Green.
It features hand-stitched honey leather grips and Morgan aluminium end caps, a Brooks saddle, walnut laminated wood-veneer mud-guards and a matching chain-guard. This three-speed bike will retail in the UK at £1,495.
The bikes will be available directly from Morgan, through its global network of dealerships and from selected Pashley Cycles outlets world-wide.
Adrian Williams, managing director of Pashley Cycles, said: “People often refer to Pashley as “the Morgan of the bicycle world”, so I am delighted that there is now a close collaboration between our two companies.
“Pashley and Morgan share many similarities, including our unrivalled heritage, design innovation and British craftsmanship.”
