Knutsford-based Oliver Valves is to recruit 20 people following a growth in overseas sales.
The business, which designs and builds valves for the world’s biggest oil and gas firms, is expanding its international business development, design, production and assembly teams after winning orders from Qatar, Korea and Australia. Earlier this year, it expanded its manufacturing facility, taking an additional 47,000ft
2 at Parkgate industrial estate.
Founder and chairman Michael Oliver said: “We are increasingly doing business overseas, but we remain very much a local employer,
and it is critical that we continue to invest in our skills base in Knutsford. It’s been another fruitful year of growth; combined with a very healthy order book, this means that we are in a strong position to grow the team.”
Most of Oliver Valves’ products are built and tested in the UK, using parts machined overseas. They are used all around the world in all stages of the oil and gas extraction and supply process. The firm currently employs about 900 people and has a turnover of around £40 million.
