Southern Manufacturing 2019 to expand in size

Southern Manufacturing 2019 to expand in size Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, the UK’s largest annual engineering show, returns to Farnborough from 5 to 7 February 2019.

The move to a new permanent venue last year proved a resounding success with both visitors and exhibitors, and this has led to strong demand for stands for the 2019 show.

The organisers are forecasting a 20% increase in exhibitors, which will take the show to its maximum capacity.

Along with a record number of exhibitors expected, the show has formalised links with several influential industry organisations, including Composites UK, the Confederation of British Metalforming, Farnborough Aero-space Consortium, the British Gear Association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, and the Gauge and Toolmakers Association.

These partnerships will enable the roll-out of new show features and provide access to authoritative technical expertise via the show’s free programme of technical seminars — open to all visitors.

Some of the new areas to be addressed as part of the 2019 programme include a look at incremental sheet-forming processes, automated mould design and large-scale 3-D printing.

Visitors to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2019 will recognise many regular exhibitors, including Bystronic UK, C Dugard, Matsuura and YMT Technologies.

Citizen Machinery UK is exhibiting for the first time since 2007, and it will be joined by other former exhibitors, including Mitutoyo (UK), Schmidt Technology, Rapid Electronics and LNS Turbo.

The new exhibitors for 2019 include Instrutec Controls, Oemeta UK and Polydist UK.

The 2019 event has also seen a remarkable 26% increase in non UK-based exhibitors, giving visitors the chance to meet a truly international selection of suppliers.

Admission to the show is free, with more information and tickets available from the Web site (www.industrysouth.co.uk).

Farnborough Exhibition and Conference Centre offers free on-site car parking, and it is easily reached by road, air or public transport.

Machinery Market is — once again — a media partner of Southern Manufacturing & Electronics and will include a comprehensive preview of the exhibition in our 31 January issue. For information about advertising, e-mail .
