US-based Shure Inc (www.shure.com), a global market leader in microphones and audio electronics, has entered the Scottish market with the strategic acquisition of Edinburgh-based TES Electronic Solutions Ltd.

Ivan McKee, Scottish Investment Minister, recently visited the company’s new Shure Edinburgh Design Centre and met two executives — Christine Schyvinck (president and CEO) and Avi Vaidya (vice-president of product development and chief technology officer).

TES — formerly part of Stuttgart-based electronics design group TES DST Holdings — has a reputation for developing innovative wireless solutions and has worked closely with Shure on a number of projects over the years. Shure will benefit from TES’s proven engineering and design talent — plus a suite of relevant intellectual property.

Mr Vaidya said: “Christine and I are honoured to have the opportunity to meet Mr McKee and representatives from Scottish Enterprise.

“TES has been an outstanding partner for Shure, and we appreciate the engineering excellence that has been shown by its team.
