Delphi Technologies, a leading provider of advanced vehicle propulsion solutions to automotive manufacturers, recently announced that its facility in Suzhou (China) has started fully localised production of its ‘class-leading’ Combined Inverter and DC/DC Converter (CIDD) and has commenced deliveries to Geely.

The CIDD can be used by both electric vehicles and hybrids to manage their electric drive systems.

Combining the inverter and DC/DC converter into one unit not only optimises efficiency and thermal management but also reduces cost, weight and packaging requirements.

We are committed to increasing our investment in China, to ensure that our customers have access to the latest innovations.

"Expanding our technical centre and manufacturing footprint for electronics and electrification in Suzhou is a key part of our strategy of making Delphi Technologies the leader in advanced vehicle propulsion.”

Delphi Technologies has invested $80 million in its Suzhou manufacturing centre for electronics and electrification, which will be fully operational in the second half of 2019.

The company will increase its workforce in China from 2,987 people to over 3,500 by 2019, as part of over $180 million of investments it is making across the country.

The company already has sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Yantai.
