Warwick-based Walter Ewag UK Ltd (
www.walter-machines.com), a member of the United Grinding Group, has reported a good order intake during 2018, following the trend set over the previous three years for its ranges of Walter Helitronic tool-grinding and erosion machines, Ewag insert-grinding and laser models, and Walter Helicheck tool-measuring machines.
Sales director Neil Whittingham said: “While last year’s order book was especially focused on tool grinding and erosion, we’ve seen a shift this year towards investment in tool measurement from the Helicheck range.
"This includes the top-of-the-range Helicheck 3D, which uses laser digitising to enable items to be scanned quickly and easily to create three-dimensional model data that can be saved, processed, analysed and measured.
"The machine’s 3D Tool Analyser software can lay horizontal, vertical and freely selectable cutting planes at any position on the 3D model.
These are automatically analysed, and the resulting parameters are made available for use; and since measurements are carried out on virtual models, the process can be performed offline.”
