Sigma ASL to add aerospace division next yearBuilding on many years of successfully manufacturing and supplying to the automotive and commercial-vehicle industries, new NWAA (North West Aerospace Alliance) member Sigma ASL (based in Essex) says it now has the aerospace
industry firmly in its sights.

Founded in the UK by current CEO Tony Elliott in 1992 as Automotive Supply Ltd, Sigma ASL is now a global business specialising in the design and manufacture of complex machined castings, oil pumps, machined forgings and ‘screw machined’ components; it also has a sub-supplier network in South Korea and its own subsidiary there — Sigma Manufacturing Solutions (SMS).

Over the past 25 years, Sigma ASL (www.sigma-asl.com) has grown into a truly global enterprise, with a yearly turnover in excess of $80 million and over 470 individual product lines.

The recent Advanced Engineering 2018 exhibition at the NEC provided an opportunity for the company to showcase its capabilities and products to industry leaders from a variety of sectors — including aerospace.

Mr Elliot says that, with all the necessary facilities now in place to serve the aerospace industry, Sigma ASL will formally launch its aerospace division in 2019, “targeting successful partnerships with its significant capabilities and infrastructure”.
