Market-leading position for Citizen Cincom

Market-leading position for Citizen Cincom Across Europe, the influence of Low Frequency Vibration (LFV) technology on Citizen’s machine development programme has taken the Japanese-owned company to a market-leading position for its Cincom sliding head turn-mill centres.

European deliveries exceeded 1,000 units for the 12 months to the end of September 2018 and were on target to pass 1,200 by the close of 2018.

Darren Wilkins, deputy managing director of Citizen Machinery UK Ltd (www.citizenmachinery.co.uk), said: “Citizen’s on-going developments designed to increase the processing flexibility of its sliding-head machines are allowing users to combine operations, reduce lead times and cut floor-to-floor times.

The resulting increased productivity, along with even greater reliability, has boosted demand for Cincom machines across Europe.

“In particular, Citizen’s investment in LFV technology for swarf control — together with the inclusion of the latest
Mitsubishi 800 control and upgraded Cincom operating software — has further contributed to our sales success.

“In addition, the ability to add laser processing to the machine’s capabilities has been widely applauded by the medical sector.”

Citizen Machinery UK is also responsible for sales in France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Scandinavia and Spain.

Mr Wilkins says that in the American market, Citizen is on target to achieve almost twice as many machine installations as its nearest competitor.
