Middlesborough-based AV Dawson (www.av-dawson.com), a shipping and logistics specialist, has secured a three-year extension to its contract to support British Steel’s steel-rolling operations at its Special Profiles facility in Skinningrove and its Teesside Beam Mill in Lackenby.

The company carries out a variety of tasks, including de-scaling machinery, providing logistics support, managing the recycling and waste solutions, and carrying out deep cleaning during shut-downs.

Managing director Gary Dawson said: “We are delighted to have secured a further three-year contract. We have built a strong partnership with British Steel over the past five years, becoming an integral part of its teams on both sites.”

Matt Stockwell, British Steel’s Teesside manager, said: “AV Dawson has worked with us to provide a flexible solution in terms of resource to cover both our Teesside Service Centre and our Teesside Beam Mill operations under one contract.

“This has worked well for the teams here serving our customers, and it’s also brought efficiencies with it.”
