Manufacturing in Aerospace Open DayGloucestershire-based Renishaw will be holding an Open Day on Tuesday 5 March at its Wotton-under-Edge Innovation Centre, from 9.30am-4pm, where leading figures in the aerospace industry will illustrate the key trends and innovative technologies that are transforming aerospace manufacturing.

The day aims to lead discussions on the direction that the aerospace industry is taking, and what is expected of the supply chain in order to fulfil the ever-changing requirements of a buoyant and growing sector.

Presentations during the day will include: a keynote address from Trevor Higgs, UK head of engineering at Airbus, on its outlook and expectations; presentations from GKN, Rolls-Royce and Sandvik will focus on how they are addressing current manufacturing challenges, along with real-life best practice.

Paul Maxted, Renishaw director of industrial metrology applications will make a presentation on the company’s innovative technologies including additive manufacturing and metrology solutions for aerospace manufacturing.

An overview of the economic landscape by Sameer Savani, head of innovation and engineering at ADS, will discuss economic factors affecting the aerospace industry.

The day will also include opportunities for networking and time will also be allocated for delegates to take a look around Renishaw's demonstration area and see live displays of the latest metrology technologies for the aerospace industry including software from Renishaw's associate company, MSP, plus its additive manufacturing systems for series production.
