Pattonair to lease new aerospace campus in DerbyDerby City Council is to invest £19.3 million in high-quality warehousing and office space at Infinity Park Derby (adjacent to the Rolls-Royce aerospace campus), to stimulate growth and support the city’s transport engineering supply chain sector.

The building will comprise an 80,000ft2 warehouse, 15,000ft2 of office space, and a further 30,000ft2 of mezzanine offices within the warehouse.

The council has negotiated terms with the developers for the site, Infinity Park Derby, and Derby-based transport engineering supply chain company Pattonair, which will lease the building.

Pattonair (www.pattonair.com) has had a long and significant presence in Derby and employs around 600 people.

The planned transition to a new purpose-built campus forms part of its five-year strategy designed to secure growth and jobs while creating a stable future for aerospace engineering in Derby.

The company provides distribution and supply chain management services to aerospace and defence companies world-wide; these services include sourcing, and inspecting and delivering a range of products such as bearings, fasteners and seals.

Pattonair CEO Wayne Hollinshead said: “We look forward to a successful partnership with Derby City Council and cementing our position in Derby.

"This new site almost doubles our operating capacity in the city and will provide ‘state of the art’ facilities to support our ambitious UK growth plans for the next 25 years.”

Meanwhile, the iHub — also based at Infinity Park — has been acclaimed as a huge success since being launched in the autumn of 2016.

It has attracted a diverse range of large and small businesses supplying the rail, aerospace and automotive sectors and is currently 94% occupied.
