Sunnen brings BTA Heller division to MissouriSunnen Products Co has relocated its BTA Heller division to the main Sunnen headquarters in St Louis (Missouri). The move from Troy (Michigan) was completed at the end of March, with all key personnel making the move.

Sunnen says its acquisition of BTA Heller last year created “a unique solution for shops looking for complete bore drilling-to-finishing capabilities.

Sunnen — the world’s largest vertically integrated manufacturer of honing systems for precision bore sizing and finishing — added BTA’s deep-hole tooling and systems for primary hole generation, saying the move will facilitate further development of tooling, systems and processes, as the companies build on “natural synergies to offer single-source bore creation and finishing solutions”.

Chris Miltenberger, President and COO of Sunnen Products Co (www.sunnen.com), said: “Our companies complement each other very well.

No other deep-hole/BTA company has Sunnen’s global presence for customer, technical and post-sale support.

"The transfer of knowledge between the two companies has already created unique value propositions, and Sunnen’s strong sales and service network will deliver this expertise to our customers.”

Mark Sollich, director of Sunnen’s BTA Heller division, said: “We have developed various tools and systems for creating intricate internal profiled deep-hole drilling for diameters from 0.5 to 36in.

"Working with Sunnen and its bore geometry expertise creates a company not found anywhere else in our industry. No one company can provide a total bore solution from the creation of the primary hole to the final bore finish specifications like we can.”

With its headquarters in the USA, Sunnen employs 650 people world-wide.

It has offices, manufacturing and tech support facilities throughout Europe, the UK, China, Brazil and India.
