Leicestershire-based Sapcote Engineering Ltd recently sought the help of the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) to optimise its EN 3834-3 welding management system and hold onto its EN 1090-1 certification.
The MGP was able to provide the funding for a strategic business review to be conducted at Sapcote — and for an expert who helped the company to upgrade its systems so that it could move forward with its EN 1090 certification (

Sapcote (

Its main source of business is the food and drink industry, but it also operates in other sectors, including automotive, pharmaceutical and general consumer goods.
With the help of MGP, the upgrades have now been implemented, and Sapcote has been audited by BSI for its compliance with EN 1090-1.
Sean Maguire, Sapcote Engineering’s managing director, said: “Although it was daunting at first, we have not looked back.
“Since our accreditation, we have secured over £1 million worth of fabrication work, which has needed to be CE-marked to EN 1090-1.”
