Blum-Novotest’s upgraded demonstration room

Blum-Novotest’s upgraded demonstration room Blum-Novotest, a leading ‘in-machine’ measurement specialist, has upgraded the demonstration room at its UK base in Burton-upon-Trent to feature its full range of technology.

This includes the recently launched Digilog family of touch probes, which combine the functionality of a digital touch probe and an analogue touch probe in a single device.

A Bridgeport GX710 vertical machining centre with Fanuc 0i control is now available for existing and potential customers to see real-time demonstrations of in-machine measurement, alongside the company’s roughness and bore gauges.

Engineering manager Nathan Baulk said: “The initial purpose of the machine was for the development of our UK engineers, so they could quickly get up to speed with the new products and software being introduced.

“This means that when we interact with customers we know exactly how the Blum technology can assist their business and can offer fast installation, servicing and maintenance.

“However, we quickly realised that we could also use the Bridgeport to give manufacturers the chance to see the performance of the products first-hand, before they invest.

“This has proven very popular, and we have even had clients bringing their own parts in so they can witness the improvements in speed and accuracy on an actual production component.

The confidence that this gives them to make the investment is huge.”

Blum-Novotest (www.blum-novotest.com) is embarking on an ambitious roll-out of new technology and products this year and has recently strengthened its team with the appointment of Paul Hodgkinson as a dedicated technical sales engineer.
