Spanish airline orders more Embraer E195-E2sAt the Paris Air Show last month, Embraer announced that it had signed a contract with Spanish airline Binter for two more E195-E2 aircraft, confirming ‘purchase rights’ in a contract signed in 2018.

The two new aircraft have a value of $141.8 million at current list prices. Martyn Holmes, Embraer vice-president (Europe, Russia and Central Asia), said: “We are extremely proud that Binter has confirmed these new acquisitions even before the first E195-E2 delivery to the airline.

“We wish the airline success, as it modernises its fleet and continues to expand into new international markets in Europe and Africa.”

The Spanish airline will receive its first E195-E2 jet in the second half of 2019, becoming the first European customer of the largest E2 model.

“It has chosen a single-class configuration with 132 seats.

“Binter vice-president Rodolfo Núñez said: “We know that the E195-E2 is the ideal aircraft model for our operations, and with typical Embraer efficiency, type certification was exactly on schedule.

“Fuel burn and other performance indicators are even better than originally expected, and we have total confidence in placing this new firm order.”

Embraer is the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial aircraft with up to 150 seats, and it has more than 100 customers all over the world.

For the E-Jets programme alone, it has delivered 1,500 aircraft to 75 customers in 50 countries.
