Arburg Inc officially began the expansion of its US headquarters last month in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

This will give it an extra 2,100m² of space in a new building, increasing the available floor space by more than 80%.

Managing director Friedrich Kanz (www.arburg.com) said: “In recent years, our business in the USA has developed significantly faster than expected, which means we now face the fortunate problem that our US headquarters — built as recently as 2015 — is already reaching its capacity limits.”

The new building will provide more space for the building and acceptance testing of turn-key systems, plus adapting stock machines to customer specifications, along with a significantly larger spare-parts warehouse.

After-sales service will be improved, and more rooms will be available for customer training and technical seminars. There will also be another 25 office workplaces for employees (mainly from the applications, turn-key systems and service departments).

The USA is Arburg’s most important foreign market.

The German company (with its headquarters and main production facilities in Lossburg) has subsidiaries at 34 locations in 26 different countries; together with its trading partners, it is present in more than 100 countries.
