Leeds-based Saftronics (
www.saftronics.co.uk), a specialist manufacturing company, has won a £160,000 contract from Brazil to provide two motor control centres (MCCs) for vessels used in the oil industry (and is in discussions to supply more).
The customer has a 12-strong fleet of FPSOs (floating production storage and off-loading vessels) that need to be fitted with new MCCs, so this could lead to a total order of £1.9 million.
The export of the MCCs was achieved with the assistance of Bradford-based overseas trade specialist Chamber International.
