Textron Aviation Inc recently delivered its 300th Cessna Citation CJ4; it was bought by McNeilus Steel.
Based in Dodge Center, Minnesota, this family-owned metals distribution business employs more than 450 people at facilities in Dodge Center, Fargo (North Dakota) and Fond du Lac (Wisconsin).
It is upgrading to full ownership of a CJ4, having been a ‘fractional owner’ of a Cessna Citation CJ1+ since 2016.
Introduced in 2010, the Citation CJ4 is the largest of the Cessna light-jet family of aircraft, which includes the Citation CJ3+ and the Citation M2.
The CJ4 allows customers to go further with a leading range-to-payload ratio, a best-in-class IFR (instrument flight rules) range of 1,926 nautical miles (3,567km), and a maximum cruise speed of 451 knots (true air-speed).
The CJ4 is certified for single-pilot operation; it has seating for nine passengers, a 1,040lb baggage capability and single-point refuelling. Over 5,000 Cessna Citation light jets have been delivered throughout the world.
Textron Aviation Inc is ‘home’ to the Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker brands.
It has five principal lines of business: business jets; general aviation and special-mission turboprop aircraft; high-performance piston aircraft; military trainer and defence aircraft; and a global customer service organisation.
Textron Aviation has delivered more than 250,000 aircraft to customers in over 143 countries.
