Aberdeen-based Spectis Robotics, a leading provider of remotely operated robotic crawlers and camera systems, has agreed a distributor deal with Dekra Visatec GmbH, which designs and manufactures high-quality visual inspection camera systems for specialist industrial markets.
The German company has 20 years’ experience in the non-destructive visual testing market, including underwater and radiation-tolerant cameras, crawlers and lighting modules for the nuclear, offshore oil and gas and renewables markets.
Brian Storie, managing director of Spectis Robotics (
www.spectisrobotics.com), said: “We are pleased to work closely with Dekra Visatec, which shares the values of our company, and we look forward to growing together — to the advantage of our clients.”
Spectis has also reached an agreement with US-based SuperDroid Robots Inc, which designs and builds both standard and customised robot vehicles for dangerous applications, where it is impractical to have a human operator present.
Mr Storrie said: “Having the strength and support of another leading firm in SuperDroid Robots will give us a significant competitive edge.
"We are optimistic that both of these new relationships will create opportunities for Spectis Robotics to become a ‘go to’ company for specialist inspection systems and will also open doors into new markets.”
