Beamit, the additive-manufacturing (AM) company with the largest ‘fleet’ of machines in Europe, recently installed its fourth EOS M 400-4, which will be used to manufacture high-quality metal parts for the oil and gas
industry.
Mauro Antolotti, chairman of Beamit (
www.beam-it.eu), said: “Industrial 3-D printing has proven to be a real revolution for countless industrial sectors, and we see even more viable potential. We are delighted to scale up our 3-D printing production capabilities by strengthening our collaboration with EOS.”
EOS senior vice-president (exports) Markus Glasser said: “We are very proud to be the partner of choice for Beamit.
“The company’s success with 3-D printing represents an important example for companies of any size that want to operate in Industry 4.0 and are already getting ready to change their business thanks, to the advantages offered by additive manufacturing.”
Beamit has been ‘leveraging’ EOS technology for some two years; in 2017, it was the first company in Italy to use the EOS M 400, the ‘sister system’ of the EOS M 400-4 — a machine made for industrial productivity, with a build volume of 400 x 400 x 400mm.
While the EOS M 400 runs with a single 1,000W laser, the EOS M 400-4 incorporates four 400W lasers.
Moreover, processes from the smaller EOS M 290 can be transferred to the EOS M 400-4 while retaining equivalent part properties.
