Fve-axis machining centre to debut at ‘EMO Encore’Yamazaki Mazak’s new CV5-500 entry-level five-axis machining centre is being given its UK debut at EMO Encore in December.

This Open House event, which is being held at Mazak’s European Technology Centre in Worcester 3-5 December, will showcase 26 machines in total.

The highlight of the show will be the UK launch of the CV5-500, a new cost-competitive simultaneous five-axis machine developed in the UK for European machine users.

It has a compact footprint and features an 18.5kW (119.4Nm of torque) 12,000rev/min spindle that can accommodate a wide range of materials; it can also be easily automated (it has a side-loading door and a robot interface).

Control is via a SmoothX CNC (the five-axis version of Mazak’s Smooth Technology).

Also on show will be the new Integrex i-200H ST, which is equipped with a second spindle, a newly designed lower turret and multiple turning and milling spindle specifications.

It is also equipped with a new CNC — SmoothAi. This is Mazak’s new ‘artificial intelligence’ control, offering the three core capabilities of machine learning (delivered by the application of artificial intelligence), digital twinning and automation.

Mazak will also be giving UK launches to two new specialist gear-cutting and measuring machines, with the focus on the new Integrex e-1250 V/8S AG (the AG stands for Auto Gear, which incorporates specialist hardware, software and metrology capabilities).

Alan Mucklow, managing director (UK and Ireland sales and service division) at Yamazaki Mazak, said: “EMO Encore is traditionally our opportunity to bring back the best of Hanover for UK machine users.

"The new CV5-500 is the stand-out machine this time, further developing our capabilities in five-axis machining, with a price point that offers a real opportunity for those with the ambition to move into more complex machining processes.”

Registration to attend EMO Encore can be made at the Web site (www.mazakeu.co.uk/EMOencore).
