SolidCAM UK’s ‘Learn and Lunch’ workshopsSolidCAM UK recently held another of its ‘Learn and Lunch’ workshops at its Technology Centre in Barnsley.

These workshops were introduced in response to customer feedback, highlighting a need for a more ‘practical hands-on shopfloor’ experience that allows engineers to network and see first-hand the latest technological advances available to the manufacturing sector.

Gordon Drysdale, managing director of SolidCAM UK, said: “Many of our customers use premium and costly materials, and they require absolute accuracy in production.

"With SolidCAM, we can offer the reliability, productivity and cost reductions essential for success, and demonstrating these factors in a shopfloor environment gives our customers the confidence to invest.”

SolidCAM UK opened the Technology Centre in 2018 to stay ahead in what the company describes as “a competitive and fast-moving market-place”, by ensuring that the latest technologies are tested and proven out in-house.

Leading industrial partners were also invited to exhibit their products and services in order to offer customers a total solution for their manufacturing needs under one roof.

For example, Romi Machines UK showcased its CNC machining capabilities, Quickgrind and MSC Industrial gave advice on cutting-tool options, Schunk Intec highlighted work-holding possibilities, CG Tech demonstrated CNC simulation, and Blum-Novotest presented its in-process inspection capabilities.

CG Tech sales engineer Tim Mitchell said: “CGTech UK always enjoy supporting SolidCAM events, as they are well attended by existing and new customers. The format works for customers and partners alike. The latest event was, as always, great to part of.”

SolidCAM UK will be holding more ‘Learn and Lunch’ workshops throughout 2020.
