Nottingham-based LAC Conveyors & Automation (
www.lacconveyors.co.uk) is enjoying a strong response from the logistics industry for its mobile line-shaft conveyor, with major carriers including Hermes, DPD, and DHL placing orders.
The company has a long history of designing, manufacturing and installing innovative conveyor solutions.
It has a wide ranges of belt conveyors, roller conveyors, modular belt conveyors and pallet-handling equipment that it tailors to the specific application.
The build and set-up time for its versatile mobile line-shaft conveyor designed for the logistics industry is short — it can be ready to operate within a few hours — and it can be integrated with existing systems and equipment such as X-ray scanners, bar-code readers, data capture cameras and box-strapping machines.
It can also be used in various layouts to match the volume of parcels coming through a customer’s site.
The conveyor consists of short sections (up to 6m) that fasten together to form a complete material-handling system; and while each section has its own drive unit, the power and emergency circuits are fully linked, offering the benefits of a fixed conveyor system with the advantages of being mobile.
One control panel can drive up to 10 motors, so the conveyor system can be configured up 60m long, with a combination of straights, curves and mergers.
LAC’s mobile line-shaft conveyor system can be changed to meet new floor-plan requirements, with modules being removed or added as required.
It can be used as part of an in-feed system in the morning to bring product into the building and then reconfigured later in the day for the packaging and despatch process.
