York-based BSC Filters, which specialises in the manufacture of microwave filters, diplexers, wave-guide and coaxial passive components, has invested in a new Quaser MV134 EH vertical machining centre — supplied by Engineering Technology Group — to meet demand.
Over the past 12 months, the company has experienced a 22% growth in business, primarily due to increasing demand from the military sector for complex components.
The MV134 EH is equipped with a 12,000rev/ min spindle, 30 tools, the latest in swarf management technology and a Heidenhain control.
ETG regional sales manager Lee Adamson (
www.engtechgroup.com) said: “The Quaser’s compact footprint means that it can be easily fitted onto the shopfloor, and it offers outstanding performance — thanks in part to the high-precision linear guideway that is used in three axes.”
