BCN3D continues to grow and build momentum in 2020Spain-based BCN3D, a leading provider of 3-D printing solutions with a facility in Barcelona, closed 2020 with record growth figures.

In order to support this expansion, BCN3D created 70 new jobs during the year, taking the total staff headcount to 150. The company also relocated to a new facility near Barcelona, to allow for more space dedicated to the production of its 3-D printing solutions.

It also expanded its reach world-wide with the appointment of 11 new sales partners in Q4 alone, giving the company a presence in more than 60 countries.

The new distributors are: 3DGBIRE (UK and Ireland); Crea3D (Italy and Malta); Distrinova (the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg); Yuchu 3D (China); Parametric Designs and Solutions (India); Systematics (Israel); iGo3D Russia; Norde Intern (Phillippines); Printhoek 3D (Namibia); 3D Print (Tunisia); and 3D Mart (Taiwan and Hong Kong).

Meanwhile, BCN3D also raised 2.8 million euros in funding through an investment led by industrial group Mondragon and CDTI (the Spanish National Innovation Agency), together with Accurafy4, JME Venture Capita l and Danobatgroup, only a year after its spin-out from CIM-UPC, a university in Barcelona.

BCN3D’s CEO Xavier Martínez Faneca said: “This round of investment in turbulent times showed an enormous trust in the 3-D printing industry, and specifically in BCN3D as one of its innovative leaders.

“2020 was an exciting year for the company as we continued to capitalise on our market opportunities and successfully execute our aggressive growth objectives. I look forward to our business growth in the 3-D printing market continuing to accelerate in 2021.”
