New intake and apprenticeship milestone for expanding Adi GroupBirmingham-based Adi Group, a leading engineering firm, has bolstered its ranks with the addition of seven new apprentices to the business, taking the number employed by the company to a record high.

The new recruits, who will be developing skills in electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as accounts and business administration, have increased the overall apprenticeship numbers to 34 at the company.

Adi CEO Alan Lusty, a former apprentice himself, said: “We are delighted to have taken on our latest apprenticeship contingent. As a business we have fully committed to youth skills development as an integral part of engineering our future. It is why we built a platform that gives young people the insight and training to achieve a highly rewarding career in our industry.”

The business also recently commenced its fifth intake of 12 pre-apprentices and a number of the new full-time apprentices are graduates from this programme.

Running concurrent to student’s education, the pre-apprentice scheme sees pupils spend one afternoon a week, across two years, at Adi’s custom-built facilities, gaining core mechanical and electrical engineering skillsets, alongside their regular education.

The new cohort has already had a chance to meet up and interact with their fellow apprentices at Adi’s recent apprenticeship away day, which took place at Boundless Outdoors in Malvern.
