Alchemy Metals, an ‘ethical scrap metal merchant’, will be highlighting it green credentials at
MACH 2022 (Hall 17, Stand 208). The event will take place from 4-8 April at the NEC, Birmingham.
In May this year, the 50-year-old company is set to transition its entire fleet of 24 vehicles from diesel to HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil). HVO is a second-generation, synthetic, advanced renewable diesel alternative that eliminates up to 90% of net CO
2 and significantly reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx), particulate matter and carbon monoxide emissions.
As a paraffinic renewable fuel, HVO will be used as a ‘drop-in’ alternative to fossil diesel throughout the Alchemy fleet of Euro 6 Scania skip, RORO, flat bed and artic lorries, as well as throughout the fleet of forklift trucks.
