With two sliding head machines on display at MACH 2022, visitors to the Floyd Automatic Tooling stand saw the diversity of the company’s tooling portfolio and the productivity benefits it can deliver. The Star SR-32J and Citizen L12 machines were fully tooled-up while machines on both the Star and Citizen stands were also demonstrating sliding head tooling available from Floyd Automatic – and underlining the synergy ithas with the leading machine tool manufacturers.

The two machines, undertaking ‘live demonstrations’ drew a record enquiry level and an unprecedented level of interest from visitors. Floyd Automatic also gave MACH debuts to the Swiss cutting tool brand Denitool and the German JBO brand which further extend’s the company’s portfolio of high-quality thread milling cutters, shell type thread milling tools, threading dies, combination tools and precision thread gauges.

Richard Floyd, Floyd Automatic’s managing director, said: “MACH was once again a huge success for us. After a four-year absence of the exhibition from our calendars, this show was all about reconnecting with customers new and old and demonstrating many of the innovations we have to offer.

The synergy we have with these leading brands was evident as stand visitors were intent on learning more about the technology we offer and how it works with the industry’s leading sliding head turning centres.”

“From a product perspective, incorporating the Denitool and JBO brands into our offering drew significant interest at MACH. Likewise, the SRS range of collet clamping heads from Schaublin and the Quick-Change Tool Systems from Swiss Tools were very well received, and having technical support from Schaublin at the show undoubtedly enabled us to promote the merits of this technology, especially on turret type machines.

“Other notable products of major interest were the new SWITCH-Line Series of interchangeable turning tools from Applitec and the Microconic over-grip collets from MASA tools. We also had Mikron Tool on the stand next to us, so experts from their team were also available to support us with technical enquiries.

“The support of our technical partners and the ability to demonstrate the innovations on Star and Citizen machines were major contributors to our success at MACH. Our reputation as the ‘go-to’ company in the sliding head tooling segment was also more prominent than ever before with more companies coming to our stand following recommendations from fellow exhibitors.”

Also drawing interest at MACH was the FLO-Tool Series of collet holders for small part machining, the Mowidec spindle centring system that enables manufacturers to reduce set-up times and save on tooling costs and the Hirt Line series of flexible stainless-steel coolant hoses and adaptors.

Complemented by the HEB Miniplug high-pressure coolant connection system for tooling blocks with a through-coolant facility, the HEB Miniplug and Hirt Line catered for all visitors’ cutting fluid supply requirements.
