Blackburn-based Northern Industrial, an automation spare parts and repair provider for AC/DC drives, PLCs and HMIs, has been acquired by US-based Radwell International, a leading global supplier of surplus and remanufactured industrial control systems.

Northern Industrial is now part of Radwell International, a move designed to bring increased efficiency, better value, and the ability to adapt and scale the combined offering to meet the global purchasing needs of customers worldwide.

David Lenehan, general manager of Europe, said: “After over 40 years of growth, Northern Industrial is delighted to become part of Radwell. Already employing over 2,000 people in 15 locations, Radwell is a global force to be reckoned with, whose services, ethics and culture are in-line with everything we have built here at Northern Industrial, and our people can look forward to a bright future as part of the Radwell family.

“This is a hugely positive move not only for all our team in Blackburn but also for our customers worldwide. With this change, we aim to establish a closer connection between all our products and services and provide a streamlined source for our customers. The ultimate goal is to be the go-to partner to help businesses keep up-and-running, offering support, expertise, and solutions to help them succeed. As part of Radwell we are confident we can achieve that at an even greater level.”

Brian Radwell, Radwell International CEO, said: “We are excited about this acquisition and the opportunities it presents for our customers. Our over-arching goal is to provide the best possible service and quality, and we believe that this acquisition will help us achieve that.”
