Aerospace quality award for KMF

#aerospace #kmf KMF (Precision Sheet Metal)’s Advanced Solutions business unit was recently presented with its AS9100 certificate by BSI managing director David McLean at the company’s Newcastle under Lyme facility (www.kmf.co.uk).

In its drive to become a leading supplier of precision sheet metal components and assemblies to the aerospace, medical and defence sectors, KMF Advanced Solutions worked with industry bodies to develop a procedures manual that is highly effective. As a result, it gained accreditation to AS9100 in a relatively short space of time. Adding this quality standard to its existing list of accreditations will help the business to develop new customer relationships.

Quality manager Gary Sutton said: “In order to support our submission for AS9100, we completely re-evaluated our operation procedures manual. The key change was creating a much more visual manual, which had the effect of simplifying the processes we had in place. We also added several procedures that were a requirement of AS9100.”

On gaining the award, managing director Gareth Higgins said: “The entire team at KMF — in particular, those with the Advanced Sol-utions facility — should be proud of the hard work that has gone into ensuring our success in gaining this quality standard.”
