Global electric mobility technology brand
ZEEKR — the global luxury electric mobility technology brand from Geely Holding Group — celebrated the delivery of its first ‘luxury electric vehicle’ to a customer in Europe when the Electric Blue ZEEKR 001 was handed over personally by ZEEKR Europe CEO, Spiros Fotinos, at the brand’s new ‘Hi-Tech Service Centre’ in Zeist, in the Netherlands.
Mr Fotinos said: “We are happy to hand over our first vehicle internationally, here, in the Netherlands. This is very proud moment for all of us, and we’re delighted to see the first of many customers in Europe experiencing for themselves what makes ZEEKR unique. We are committed to making the transition to full electric simple, seamless, and effortless — not when e-mobility becomes an obligation, but right now, so that we can all contribute to a more sustainable future.”
Lothar Schupet, ZEEKR Europe’s chief commercial officer, added: “ZEEKR recognises that going electric can only be successful if world-class vehicles are matched by a world-class customer experience, and that customer experience is our obsession. That’s why our personalised, ‘One-Stop-Shop’ offering — accessible online or in our ZEEKR stores — gives the customer everything from finance, insurance, home wallbox installation, and public charging solutions, through to vehicle service plans and extended warranties, helping to set new standards in EV ownership.
“Following the first ZEEKR vehicles delivered to customers in the Netherlands and Sweden at the end of last year, others will follow in Germany early this year. Moreover, ZEEKR will expand its presence into most countries in Western Europe by 2026.”
Fully integrated user ecosystemZEEKR, which says it aims to create a fully integrated user ecosystem with innovation as standard, uses the EV-focused Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) and includes its own ‘e-powertrain technologies and a sustainable electric vehicle supply chain. ZEEKR operates R&D centres in Ningbo, Hangzhou, Gothenburg, and Shanghai. The engineering team in Sweden works on core technologies including vehicle architectures, powertrain, chassis, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
They also collaborate with start-ups, innovation hubs, and academia — in Sweden and from around the world — to pave the way for future sustainable mobility. ZEEKR’s global design centre, also located in Gothenburg, is home to a diverse, international team working in disciplines that include exterior and interior design, colour, materials, human-machine interface (HMI), and digital and physical modelling.
Since ZEEKR began delivering vehicles in October 2021, the brand has delivered over 170,000 vehicles to date including the ZEEKR 001, ZEEKR 009 MPV and ZEEKR X urban SUV. ZEEKR has announced plans to sell vehicles in European, Middle Eastern, and other Asian markets, and has an ambitious roll-out plan over the next 5 years to satisfy the rapidly expanding global EV demand.
