Bristol-based
MACH Machine Tools Ltd, part of the Vigilance Group and a leading supplier of CNC and manual machine tools and machine shop equipment to UK and Irish component manufacturers, will be showcasing two DynaPath-controlled machines at
Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2024, being held 6-8 February, at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre (Stand H275) — a MACH MDT-1 turret-type mill, and an MDV 800 three-axis CNC vertical machining centre; this is a new machine that made its UK debut at the company’s Open House earlier this month.
The new MDV-series machines, comprising the MDV 800 and MDV 1100, are high-performance machining centres designed to provide ‘high levels of cutting performance and process efficiency’. Featuring the DynaPath WinDelta CNC system, they are equipped with an 11-15kW 8,000rev/min BT40, high-torque air-cooled spindle as standard. As an option, a direct-drive 12,000rev/min spindle with spindle chiller and through-spindle-coolant capabilities can be specified.
Other standard features of both MDV machines include: Hiwin linear roller guides; a 24-position swing-arm ATC; a large-capacity worktable (1,000 x 500mm with a 500kg maximum table load on the MDV 800); and 36m/min rapids on all axes (these are fully enclosed with armoured telescopic covers for optimum reliability).
Furthermore, MACH Machine Tools says high precision is assured by C3-class PMI precision ballscrews and ‘laser interferometer dynamic ballscrew-compensation that provides 6um positional accuracy and 3um repeatable accuracy throughout the work envelope. As standard, MDV models also include auto-lubrication, flood coolant, and wash down systems. Options include tool probing, work-piece probing, fourth-axis systems, swarf augers, and swarf conveyors.
Meanwhile, the DynaPath WinDelta control accommodates ISO and conversational programming on one platform, along with online CAD editing capabilities, semi-auto functions, DRO operation, and a remote assistance facility. Moreover, when connected to a local area network, the control’s ‘in-built FTP server function’ provides customers with fast, Wi-Fi enabled remote diagnostic and applications assistance, as well as ‘immediate programming monitoring help and support’. This facility is available 24/7.
Matt Andrew, MACH Machine Tools’ sales director, said: “The two machines we are taking to Southern Manufacturing & ELectronics 2024 will help illustrate the depth and breadth of our milling machine tool range. On one hand we have a proven and popular toolroom mill, and on the other a new production-oriented VMC. Both machines come equipped with the ground-breaking DynaPath control.
“The message we will be promoting to manufacturers visiting the show is that “whatever your milling requirements, there is a MACH machine tool that can meet both your immediate and future needs.”
