Vollmer (UK) enhances service team with new appointmentsNottingham-based Vollmer (UK) Ltd has strengthened its service and customer support team with the appointment of two new service engineers. As a leading manufacturer of grinding and erosion technology for cutting tools and circular saw blades, the quality and reputation of the German machine tool brand are second-to-none.

To ensure the quality and expectations of UK customers are not only met, but exceeded, Vollmer (UK) has employed Michael Clements and Danny Lewis to strengthen its customer service and engineering support function. Mr Clements brings a wealth of experience to the service team, having served an advanced-level apprenticeship before spending more than a decade as an assembly technician and maintenance engineer with well-known companies including Taylor Hobson and Babcock.

He has extensive experience working on MoD submarines and aircraft carriers to machine tools and the aerospace sector. In his most recent role as a machine tool service engineer conducting maintenance and PPM (planned preventive maintenance), Mr Clements has a detailed knowledge and understanding of machine tools and customer support.

Continuous improvement

Meanwhile Mr Lewis is a time-served mechanical engineer who has undertaken everything from machining and maintenance to breakdowns, support and continuous improvement. During his career, he has spent more than a decade working as a maintenance engineer and fitter with a skill set that includes everything from welding and fabrication to machining, and hydraulic and pneumatic expertise. This culmination of skills combined with an excellent track record in health and safety, academia, inspection and testing, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting will be a huge benefit to both Vollmer UK and its customers.
