Greater Manchester-based Roxtec, a leading cable and pipe seal manufacturer, has strengthened its power and process division in the UK with two new appointments to the team.

Eston Dalby has joined Roxtec UK as external sales manager, covering the south of England, while Wilfred Ballo has taken up an internal technical sales role. They join the division as Roxtec seeks to expand within in power and process markets, which are key to the company’s long-term strategy. This includes increased involvement in energy transition, working on renewable hybrid projects as well as energy storage, including battery technology, and the balancing of transmission and distribution grids.

The company is active in wind, solar and nuclear power and is working with several leading technology providers in the ‘green’ hydrogen sector, providing its unique solutions for cable and pipe sealing. Roxtec’s cable and pipe seals are also found in a range of process industries, including mining and metals, the onshore oil, gas and petrochemical sectors as well as pulp and paper plants.

Roxtec UK managing director Clive Sharp said: “We are delighted to welcome Eston and Wilfred to Roxtec as we further strengthen the power and process team. I look forward to seeing their contributions as we continue on our growth path. As these latest appointments highlight, we continue to invest in our people in response to the increasing needs of our customers and to help them meet the challenges they face.”

Total confidence

Mr Dalby was business development manager for a workplace solutions company in his previous position. His role at Roxtec will centre on supporting and building and developing working relationships with its customers.

He said: “I am looking forward to this new role, working closely with customers and giving them total confidence that we are there for them throughout their project and beyond. What really attracted me to Roxtec was the chance to work for a global leader with a massive reputation for engineering excellence and innovation.”

Mr Ballo’s background is in engineering. His new role will see him supporting the division’s external sales team to help them deliver projects, come up with technical solutions for customers and seek out future business opportunities.

He said: “The role is really hands-on and as an engineer that technical and problem-solving side of it is what really attracted me to Roxtec. It is all about supporting the team. With the continued growth of green energy projects and the UK’s journey towards ‘net zero’ you can see the great opportunities that exist for Roxtec to grow even further in that sector. I am looking forward to being part of that journey.”

Roxtec’s cable and pipe seals are used to protect people and assets from multiple hazards including fire, flooding, the risk of explosion and electromagnetic disturbances. Key benefits include durability, reliability and flexibility. They are ideal for field-based terminal boxes, electric heat trace cabinets, remote I/O cabinets, DCS/PLC cabinets and other high cable density applications in harsh environments.

Roxtec entered the marketplace in 1990 and is now active in more than 80 markets worldwide. The British subsidiary of the £197 million Swedish group has a turnover of more than £6 million and a team of 20 based at its Waterfold Business Park head office in Bury.
