TV ‘ad’ campaign to power MG3 Hybrid+ launchMG Motor UK is pressing the button on its latest TV advert this week when it launches its MG3 Hybrid+ advertising campaign. The iconic British automotive brand is expecting massive demand for its latest model, which experts consider will redefine the B Supermini segment with a host of luxury features — prices will start at just £18,495.

MG Motor UK has engaged with West Midlands-based M3.agency to create a TV commercial and supporting campaign that will run across all major terrestrial and satellite channels and across key European stations — all helping drive interest in what MG is calling a landmark in powertrain development. The advert, which was shot exclusively in iconic Birmingham locations, shows the feel good ‘aura’ that a person gives off when they are driving or even just anticipating getting behind the wheel of their MG3 Hybrid+.

Justin Griffiths, Group creative director at M3.agency, said: “We wanted to flip the thinking behind traditional automotive films by making the car the principal character in the advert, delivering its own features and emotional connection with the audience. In essence, the MG3 Hybrid+ delivers a ‘feel good’ that you can’t hide. The team created extensive visual effects in post-production to deliver the colourful aura that is so unique to this piece. Our roots are firmly in the West Midlands, and we wanted to make sure the campaign reflected the traditional roots of the MG brand by weaving in iconic Birmingham locations, such as Brindleyplace and Sutton Park. This is one of the biggest TV commercials MG has aired and it is appropriate that it hits our screens as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary. It also highlights its belief that it will be a major seller in the hybrid vehicle market.”

M3, which has offices in Albrighton, Birmingham and London, has been working with MG Motor UK since 2019 and has been delivering a host of services, including TV, OOH, lifestyle and studio photography, radio, print, dealer support and digital assets. The company won the creative services tender again in 2023 for the brand’s core range in the UK and the European market launch of the new MG3 Hybrid+.
