Huddersfield-based Wayland Additive has announced that moving forward it will be working in partnership with 3Dees Industries for sales of Calibur3 electron beam (eBeam) metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems across Central and Eastern Europe.

3Dees Industries is a leading supplier of advanced AM solutions across Central and Eastern European territories in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Ukraine with a dedicated focus on practical application of the technologies for industry. Daniel Adam, co-founder and CEO of 3Dees Industries, has a strong connection to the aerospace industry. With a background in aeronautical engineering, he worked for many years as a specialist in aircraft design offices. His deep understanding of the sector underscores his appreciation of the essential and transformative role that eBeam AM technology, such as Wayland’s NeuBeam process, can play in aerospace manufacturing. Mr Adam believes that NeuBeam represents a significant advancement for metal AM applications.

He said: “I have been working with various additive technologies for more than two decades and I fully appreciate how they can foster innovation for industry and bring key efficiencies to manufacturing operations. The NeuBeam process from Wayland advances this even further for metal AM applications offering, as it does, an eBeam process with much greater productivity and more opportunities with more materials that are not traditionally used with AM. I am excited to work with the Wayland team and to share the benefits of the Calibur3 system across our network in Europe.”

Peter Hansford, CRO (chief revenue officer) at Wayland Additive, said: “This announcement about Wayland’s partnership with 3Dees Industries is a testament to the increasing demand we are seeing for Calibur3 and the capabilities of our NeuBeam process. It is gratifying to be able to work with Daniel at 3Dees, with his brilliant network and commitment to advancing AM technology across industry. Daniel truly gets the benefits that the Calibur3 offers and he is a true inspiration; I am delighted to be working with him and progressing machine sales into Eastern Europe.”

From its operations in Prague and Brno, where 3Dees is based at the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC), together with its AM application centre in Ostrava, the company is well placed to support businesses with the deployment and application of advanced 3-D printing technologies. In Slovakia, 3Dees operates at the Technical University of Košice, which enables a valuable connection between academia and industry.

3Dees also holds a significant position in supplying additive technologies to Ukraine, where it has been active since 2021. Its continued engagement in Ukraine has become an even more vital source of support during these challenging times.

Providing innovative solutions and services to a broad and growing industrial base across many sectors in this region, 3Dees Industries is also dedicated to education and pragmatically demonstrating the opportunities that advanced additive manufacturing technologies offer.

Visitors to Formnext 2024, which takes place next week (19-22 November) in Frankfurt, can see the Calibur3 on the Wayland Additive stand (Hall 12.0, Stand 139).
